Engineer. Builder. Vienna.

I’m Harald Fuchs, a BEng student at TU Wien with a background in embedded electronics and PCB design. Most of my engineering work sits between hardware and software — microcontrollers, sensors, and the pipelines that turn their data into something useful.

Beyond the degree, my time goes into three things: building (products, ventures, side projects), learning (and writing it down in public), and creating value — for clients through project work, and longer-term through my own products. Entrepreneurship and business development are as much part of the week as firmware is.

I’m available for remote project work alongside my studies — web apps, platforms, embedded firmware, and edge-AI builds. Send a short inquiry →.

Ventures

Two products in early build, both pre-launch:

  • processpilot — a B2B SaaS. Product, positioning, and first customer conversations in progress.
  • replai — an AI product, currently in exploration and prototyping.

I write about the process — positioning, pricing, first customers, the unglamorous operational parts — in Writing. Details on both when they ship.

Background

I trained at TGM Vienna for five years in electronics and technical informatics, graduating with distinction in 2024. I’m now in the BEng programme in Electrical Engineering at TU Wien.

In parallel to my studies, I worked as a working student at Siemens for four months in pharma automation, delivering PCS7 control systems to industrial customers. The role covered schematics, commissioning, and on-site validation, and gave me a first look at how engineering ships in a regulated industry — where systems have to run for years without you and customer communication matters as much as the code.

I stepped away from the Siemens role to focus on my studies and on my own project work, which has shifted toward edge AI.

What I’m working on

On the engineering side, the current focus is edge AI — TinyML on resource-constrained hardware, with the full pipeline from sensor data to a live dashboard. The most recent project (Edge AI Radar on an Infineon PSoC6 with MicroPython and Imagimob DEEPCRAFT) covered the full loop: data collection, model training, on-device inference, and Wi-Fi reporting to a Next.js frontend.

Alongside that, I keep maintaining a couple of open-source MagicMirror modules, ship the occasional embedded side project, and put steady hours into the two ventures above.
