About Me

I’m Harald Fuchs, an Electrical Engineering student at TU Vienna with a strong technical foundation and a genuine curiosity for how technology can simplify and improve life.
My journey started at TGM Vienna, where I graduated with distinction (average grade 1.1) — developing a passion for precision engineering and problem-solving through hands-on creation.

Beyond my studies, I find balance and focus through fitness and sports. Training has taught me the same principles that drive great engineering: discipline, consistency, and long-term thinking.
I also discovered my passion for traveling, exploring different cultures and perspectives that continuously inspire my creativity and adaptability.

What I Do Best

I thrive at the intersection of engineering, analysis, and creativity — where structured logic meets curiosity.

Core strengths:

  • Technical: Power Electronics, Embedded Systems, Control Engineering
  • Analytical: Structured problem-solving, process optimization, systems thinking
  • Personal: Discipline, focus, and the ability to balance precision with creativity

I enjoy translating complex ideas into simple, functional designs — whether that’s a PCB layout, an automation script, or an efficient workflow.

Experience & Projects

During my studies and technical education, I’ve worked on several challenging projects that shaped my hands-on approach.
A key highlight is my diploma thesis project, Field Scanner,
a motor-controlled 2D scanning system for radiation field measurement — including a self-developed mainboard, embedded firmware, and precision motion control (±1 mm accuracy).

This project strengthened my ability to combine hardware design, software development, and project management — from concept to validated system.

Software Engineering Internship

During my recent software engineering internship, I focused on high-impact infrastructure improvements. I successfully reduced the frontend build-time by 10x by migrating our toolchain to esbuild. Additionally, I led the transition of the entire codebase from JavaScript to TypeScript, significantly improving the project’s stability and developer experience.

Mindset & Values

I believe that true progress comes from curiosity, discipline, and simplicity.
My approach is grounded in:

  • Clarity over complexity – focusing on what truly matters
  • Continuous learning – challenging myself beyond academics
  • Balance – staying physically and mentally sharp through training and travel

Whether in the gym or in the lab, I aim for the same: consistent, measurable growth.

Let’s Connect

I’m always open to connecting with like-minded people who share a passion for technology, innovation, and self-improvement.
